TDS Deductions?
As per the Finance Act 2023, all Real Money Gaming Apps are mandated to deduct tax at the rate of 30% on users' Net Winnings at the time of withdrawal or on 31st March (i.e. end of Financial Year).
What is 'Net Winnings'?
Net Winnings is the difference between the total amount withdrawn and the total amount deposited at the time of withdraw.
Eg: Total Deposit - ₹1000 Total Withdraw - ₹2000 Net Winnings = Total Withdraw - Total Deposit = ₹2000-₹1000 = ₹1000.
TDS DEDUCTION ON 1ST WITHDRAWAL?
TDS = 30% of Net Winnings Tax to be deducted before withdrawal = Tax calculated - Tax already taken out(Earlier withdrawals) So Here, the Net Winnings is ₹ 1000. Tax = 30% of ₹ 1000 = ₹ 300

Tax to be deducted before withdrawal is = ₹300 - 0 (no tax deducted so far as this is 1st withdrawal) = ₹300 ₹300 will be deducted as TDS, and the remaining amount ₹1700 will credited to the account.

In simpler terms, the user has requested to withdraw ₹2,000 from Winnings. After considering the account balance and deposits, the Net Winnings amount is ₹1,000. PeelBlue will withhold 30% of the Net Winnings as TDS, which is ₹300 in this case. The final amount credited to the user's registered bank account would be ₹1,700.
TDS DEDUCTION ON FOLLOWING WITHDRAWALS?
Let’s say that the same user user now requests another withdrawal of ₹2,000.

If the user withdraws another ₹2000, Netwinnings = ₹4000 (₹2000+₹2000(1st withdraw)) - ₹1000 = ₹3000 Tax calculated = 30% of ₹3000 = ₹900 Tax to be withheld = ₹900 - ₹300 (tax already taken out) = ₹600 Money to be allowed for withdrawal = ₹2000 - ₹600 = ₹1400 The remaining amount ₹1400 will credited to the account.
Will tax be deducted if I withdraw an amount lesser than my total deposits?
If your total withdrawal is less than your total deposit, no tax will be deducted.

Eg: Total Deposit - ₹1000 Total Withdraw - ₹800 Net Winnings = Total Withdraw - Total Deposit = ₹800-₹1000 = -₹200. As Net Winning is negative, there will be no tax deduction.
